Coach Braman thrives on developing his distance runners.

Florida State freshman Darrin Gibson ran the second best time of his career with a 1:49.28 Friday afternoon in the finals of the 800m run at the 2010 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. The mark placed Gibson fourth in the competition.

"Darrin did a great job," Florida State head coach Bob Braman said. "He had a great freshman year and I'm excited to see what's in store for him in the future."

The Tampa, Fla., native qualified for the finals with a 1:50.74 in first round action Thursday.
