FSU Track and Field Spend Break with Habitat for Humanity
The 2004 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Champions will spend Thursday morning with students from schools across the country rebuilding houses and cleaning areas around Tallahassee.

Tallahassee - The Florida State men's track and field squad, coming off back-to-back-to-back conference titles, will take Thursday morning, March 11, 2004 to work with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The Seminoles will split their time at three sites around Tallahassee, leaving campus at 8:30 a.m. and returning after a lunch with students from other universities across the country.

The tasks at hand for the Tribe members include repairing and cleaning current Habitat for Humanity houses and properties. After the student-athletes finish at the sites, the community service organization will provide lunch at its headquarters downtown.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. The organization uses volunteers and other forms of charity to counter homelessness and poverty and provide shelter for those in need. The group has built almost 80,000 houses around the world, providing some 400,000 people in more than 2,000 communities with shelter.
