PERFORMANCE RESULTS

2013: Has qualified in the long jump (7.56m/24-9.75) and 4x100m relay (39.58) for the 2013 NCAA Championships... set ACC Outdoor Championship record in long jump with leap of 8.05m (26-5)... also picked up duty as third leg on FSU's ACC champion 4x100 meter relay team... placed sixth at NCAA Outdoor Championships in long jump... placed 20th at 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships... South African has represented his country in four World Championship meets... sister Maryke also long jumps for FSU.

• Has performed with remarkable consistency in his second season as a long jump specialist with the Seminoles and has put a string of leg issues behind him
• Claimed his first All-America honor at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships, placing sixth in the long jump with a lifetime best mark of 7.80 meters (25-7.25), breaking his previous best set as a 16-year-old in 2008
• Placed second at the ACC Indoor Championships for a second consecutive year (7.69m/25-2.75)...was injured on his first jump at the 2012 ACC Indoor Championships (7.37m/24-2.25) but still managed a runner-up finish
• Advanced to the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he finished 20th after placing eighth at the NCAA East Preliminary
• Arrived at FSU from home in South Africa in January 2012 as a transfer from Stellenbosch
• Has represented South Africa in four World Championship events - two World Youth Games and two World Junior Championships...won silver at the 2009 World Juniors in the long jump...was a member of the 2012 South Africa national team

Personal:Transferred to FSU from the University of Stellenbosch...has represented South Africa nationally and internationally since his early teens...prior to arriving at FSU, his last significant competition came in 2010 at Celle Ligure, Italy, where he won the long jump with a legal mark of 7.66 (25-1.75)...was a silver medalist at the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships in Bressanone, Italy with a leap of 7.57m (24-10)...all-time best mark came in 2008 at Rustenburg, South Africa (7.74/25-4.75) in 2008, but was wind-aided...from 2007-2010 competed in two World Youth and two World Junior events...born Jan. 19, 1992.
