Made his first NCAA Indoor Championship appearance after a brilliant performance on his way to the ACC shot put title with an all-time best throw of 19.20m (63-0)...one of the top throwers in the Atlantic Coast Conference and nationally...is among only a handful of athletes who have qualified for the last two NCAA Outdoor Championships in both the shot put and discus...a three-time All-American...enters his final season trying to build on a pair of ACC titles in 2011...has earned All-ACC honors seven times...represented Peru in the shot put at the 2011 PanAm Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, narrowly missing the finals in his first major international competition. 2011: Outdoor - for the second consecutive year qualified for the NCAA Championships meet in both the shot put and discus...earned USTFCCCA All-American honors in both events, finishing sixth in the shot put with a career-best toss (18.90m)...captured his first ACC outdoor title in the discus, where he was also the runner-up in the shot put...posted four discus and two shot put victories over the course of the season...opened the year with a career-best discus throw of 57.96m at USF. Indoor - won all five shot put events he entered during his junior campaign, including the Iowa State NCAA Qualifier where his career indoor best (18.23m) left him just shy of trip to nationals...claimed his first-ever ACC Championship. 2010: Outdoor - enjoyed breakthrough sophomore campaign, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both the shot put and discus...highlight of the season came with sixth-place finish in the discus, where he uncorked a new PR of 56.03m...registered three shot put and two discus wins and was second at the ACC Championships in the shot put. Indoor - finished seventh at the ACC Championships. 2009: Outdoor - was the Seminoles' top thrower as a redshirt freshmen, earning a spot in the shot put at the NCAA East Regional...contributed to FSU's ACC dominance, placing second in both the shot put and discus at the championship meet as the `Noles won the team title...eclipsed the 60-foot standard for the first time in the shot put at the ACC Championships (18.35/60-2.50)...unfazed on the big stage, finished second in the discus (57.18/187-7) and third in the shot put (18.26) at the Penn Relays. Indoor - redshirts. 2008: Outdoor - redshirted but competed unattached in four meets, highlighted by his shot/discus sweep at the Seminole Invitational. Indoor - competing as a true freshman, scored a sixth-place finish at the ACC Championships.
