One of the most sought-after recruits in the nation, he makes his NCAA East Preliminary debut in the 400-meter dash after posting a lifetime-best mark of 46.01 at the Georgia Tech Invitational...checks in as the No. 11 seed...will also compete on FSU's 4x400 relay team...enters the postseason at the top-rated collegiate junior athlete in the world at 400 meters.
Outdoor: Competed in only three meets during the regular season, but has progressively improved...finished second to teammate James Harris in PR performance at Georgia Tech, despite racing out of lane 8...advanced to the finals in the 400 at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a preliminary heat collegiate-best (46.11), before placing fifth overall...followed up with a monster leg on FSU's third-place 4x400 (3:06.76) which clinched the ACC team title...opened the year going 46.38 for the 400 win at the Seminole Invitational.
Indoor: Capped a highly-successful indoor season by earning All-American honors for the first time in his career as a member of the 4x400 which placed seventh at the NCAA Indoor Championships...though slowed by injury, contributed to FSU's third-place 4x400 relay at the ACC Championships, which secured the team title...ran only two open 400-meter races, posting his fastest mark (46.57) in a sixth-place finish at Razorback Invitational.
Personal: Starred at Oscar Smith High School, where he gave up basketball to focus on track early in his career...that decision paid dividends as he won eight Virginia State titles over the course of his career, ranging from 200 to 500 meters...set the national high school 300-meter record indoors in 2013 (33.05) on the way to a state title...is a three-time New Balance National champion, claiming the 2012 and 2013 outdoor titles in the 400, as well as the 2013 indoor crown...boasted high school PRs of 10.79 (100), 21.32 (200), 46.02 (400) and 1:53.1 (800)...plans to major in sport management at FSU...born March 23, 1995.
