Indoor - scored in four events to help the `Noles with the ACC team title...was fourth in the heptathlon, long jump and 60-meter hurdles and sixth in the pole vault. 2009: Outdoor - redshirted. Indoor - capped his season with an NCAA Championship runner-up finish in the heptathlon (5,879)...piled up the points with a season-best 7.14 in the 60m hurdles, propelling him to his second consecutive ACC heptathlon title with 5,847 points...posted an NCAA provisional mark of 5.20m (17-0.75) in the pole vault at the adidas Classic. 2008: Outdoor - represented Chile in the decathlon at the Beijing Olympic Games...helped FSU to the NCAA Championship with his third-place finish in the decathlon as a freshman with a school-record 7,907 points...earned NCAA East All-Region honors with his seventh place finish in the 110m hurdles, after notching his best time 13.78 in the prelims...finished fifth in the pole vault and seventh in the javelin, helping FSU to the ACC Championship team title...registered a personal-best in the pole vault (5.35m/17-6.50) at the FSU Relays, which ranks third in school history...won the ACC Championship in the heptathlon with a meet record 5,765 points. Indoor - won the NCAA Championship in the heptathlon as a freshman with an FSU-record 5,951 points...smashed the ACC Championship record on his way to victory with 5,951 points. Personal: Earned his undergraduate degree in business administration...currently completing his MBA...plans to stay in Tallahassee to train for the London Olympic Games...prior to his arrival, won both the Chilean Senior National and Junior National titles in record fashion with 7,504 and 7,305 points, respectively...born Aug. 19, 1986. |
