FSU loaded with favorites entering three-day meet at NC State

Coming off a breakthrough 2012 indoor campaign...cracked the 15-meter barrier in the shot put for the first time at the Auburn Invitational (15.02m/49-3.50)...bettered that mark at the ACC Indoor Championships (15.04m/49-4.25), collecting a third-place finish and her first All-ACC honor...competed in four indoor meets and placed sixth or better in three of those...talented athlete who can contribute throwing multiple implements, but focuses primarily on the javelin and shot put. 2011: Outdoor - advanced to the NCAA East Region in the javelin on the strength of her career-best winning throw at the UNF Osprey Invitational (45.86m/150-5)...finished 20th at region from a field of 48...scored a fifth-place finish in the javelin (43.60m/143-0) at her first ACC Outdoor Championships; also competed in the shot put...collected a fourth-place finish in the javelin at the Penn Relays...registered her career-best in the shot put at the Seminole Invitational (14.66m/48-1.25)...opened her outdoor career by winning the javelin at the FSU Relays. Indoor - competed in four meets as a freshman...turned in her best performance at the ACC Indoor Championships in the shot put (14.64m/48-0.50). Personal: Brought an impressive resume to FSU from Nova Scotia, where she was the provincial shot put champion from 7th-12th grades and the javelin champion from 9th-12th...captured the 2011 Canadian Junior National Championship in the shot put and represented her country on the Junior Pan American team...two-time Canadian Youth National Champion in the shot put and javelin (2008, 2009) and Canadian Junior National Champion in the shot put in 2010...member of the Canadian World Youth team in 2009...strong student majoring in sport management...twice selected to the Dean's List and once to the President's List (4.0 gpa)...member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars Association...born Oct. 18, 1992.
