Senior named ACC Scholar-Athlete of Year, leading large group of Seminoles

January enrollee who competed sparingly during the 2012 indoor season...a long jump specialist, he finished second at the ACC Indoor Championships despite suffering a hamstring injury on his first attempt of the meet (7.37m/24-2.25)...also scored a victory at the SPIRE Invitational...made his US collegiate debut at the Razorback Invitational. Personal:Transferred to FSU from the University of Stellenbosch...has represented South Africa nationally and internationally since his early teens...prior to arriving at FSU, his last significant competition came in 2010 at Celle Ligure, Italy, where he won the long jump with a legal mark of 7.66 (25-1.75)...was a silver medalist at the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships in Bressanone, Italy with a leap of 7.57m (24-10)...all-time best mark came in 2008 at Rustenburg, South Africa (7.74/25-4.75) in 2008, but was wind-aided...from 2007-2010 competed in two World Youth and two World Junior events...born Jan. 19, 1992.
