TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State swimming and diving teams collected 12 prospects for the early signing period this fall. The eight swimmers and three divers will join the Seminoles for the 2013-14 season.
"I'm very excited about the class that we signed," head coach Neil Harper said. "I feel like we were able to hand pick this group. In diving we found athletes with great potential that have accomplishments in both high school and club events. Their talent can keep us at the top of the conference and in the NCAA. For the women this class is deep with a group of six that all have the ability to help at the ACC and NCCA level. The men's class is small, but high in quality. We have some of Florida's best and both are going to be phenomenal college talents and they should be All-Americans for years to come."
Of the 12 in the class, seven are women and five are men. The women have added two freestylers and four extremely versatile athletes in addition to a diver, whereas the men will welcome three highly talented divers in addition to a state champion sprinter and a multiple event threating swimmer.
"This class just shows how hard the staff worked to get the right prospects to FSU," Harper said. "Thanks to all of the hard work, this class could go down as one of the best in our program's history"
