TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - After a weekend break from competition, the Florida State swimming and diving teams are set for its annual dual against Florida in the Sunshine State Showdown on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. at the Morcom Aquatics Center.

"We are feeling quietly confident," head coach Neil Harper said. "All we can control is how we swim and how we dive. That's how we're going to measure our success. If our performances are fast enough to win races and win the meet, then we'll be excited."

The 19th- ranked men have a season record of 5-1, 2-1 ACC while the women are No. 24 with a perfect 9-0, 3-0 ACC showing. In its most recent meet, Florida State grab two wins for each team against Florida State and Emory on Nov. 3 behind 91 season - best performances. Swimming two of those in the 100 and 200 fly was sophomore Connor Knight, who earned ACC Male Swimmer of the Week for his efforts. Knight posted the eighth fastest time in the NCAA in the 100 fly at 48.13 after swimming a time of 1:48.22 in the 200 distance. Both were career bests.

The Gators arrive in Tallahassee with the series lead for both men (24-50) and women (2-35). This is the first out of conference meet for Florida.

The second ranked men's team is a perfect 3-0 on the season with wins against Texas A&M, Georgia and No. 21 South Carolina. Florida was the top-ranked program before Michigan surpassed the Gators last week.

Florida is the 11th - ranked women's program behind a record of 1-2. The Gators lost to No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Texas A&M, but snatched a victory against South Carolina.

The meet will follow a 16-event format with diving beginning at 3 p.m. The swimming portion will start at 4 p.m. Florida State's seniors will be recognized prior to the start of swimming and the first 200 fans to arrive at the meet will receive a free t-shirt.
