TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Gearing up for its first home meet of the season, the Florida State swimming and diving teams will host Emory and Florida Southern at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Morcom Aquatics Center. The tri-meet will serve as the annual `Paint it Pink' event for the team.

"We're excited for a lot of things this weekend," head coach Neil Harper said. "On top of our first home meet, we're thrilled to support the Paint it Pink cause. In addition, our parents chose this weekend to come in to town and support us, so we'll have a great atmosphere."

The 22nd ranked women's team comes into the match with a perfect 7-0, 3-0 ACC record. The Seminoles are coming off of a 3-0 weekend in Durham, N.C. where they beat Duke, Virginia Tech and UNC- Wilmington.

Leading the charge was junior Tiffany Oliver, who went 4-for-4 in her events. Oliver first won the 200 free before swimming her fastest 50 free time of the season at 23.05 en route to another first place. She contributed another individual victory in the 100 free prior to swimming the second leg of the 400 free relay that broke the Duke Aquatics Center pool record at 3:24.79.

The men's team went 2-1 last weekend at Duke, taking wins against the Blue Devils and UNC-Wilmington, however the 15th- ranked Seminoles suffered their first loss of the season to Virginia Tech in a close 162-136 battle.

During the meet, Florida State captured five wins with two of those coming from the efforts of sophomore Connor Knight. Knight bettered his personal best in the 200 fly to a 1:49.46 before swimming a 49.38 in the 100 fly. Also winning events were junior Paul Murray (100 free), Josh Friedel (200 back) and senior Danny Nguyen (200 IM).

"Florida Southern has really built up its program over the course of the past few years," Harper said. "Our kids will be racing against a lot of familiar faces with former club and high school teammates. Also, Emory is a national powerhouse in Division III and they bring another dimension to the pool. We are getting the chance to compete outside in the sunshine while the rest of the country is getting ready for winter. It's going to be a beautiful day."
