TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Rising sophomore Dylan Grisell is set to compete at the 2014 Summer Senior National Championships in Winnipeg , Man. at the Pan Am Pool From May 16-18. The Toronto, Ont. native is scheduled to compete in the 10-meter platform and 3-meter springboard events.
“I am really excited to compete back up north after my first year at FSU,” Grisell said. “I’ve made some important technical changes with my coaches Pat (Jeffrey) and Amy (Cozad) and I’ve learned a couple new dives this year, so I’m really looking forward to competing at Senior Nationals to see how I match up to the rest of the Canadian field.”
On Friday, Grisell will dive in the prelims of his specialty the 10-meter platform. The top 12 scoring divers will compete in semifinals later that day. Finals for the event will contain the top eight divers and will be held on Sunday.
The 3-meter prelims, semis and finals will be held on Saturday.
The meet will also serve as a tryout for the remaining FINA Grand Prix meets as well as the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which are being held in Glasglow, Scotland from July 23- August 3.
During his rookie season, Grisell placed fourth on platform at the 2014 ACC Championships following a career best score in prelims of 419.55.
Tyler Roberge, a 2014 FSU signee is expected to compete at the meet.
