TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Twelve members of the men's and women's swimming and diving team were named to the All -ACC Academic Team, which was announced by the league office today.
Five members of the men's team were selected. Senior Mike Neubacher, juniors Mark Weber, Nick Klein and sophomore Thomas Neubacher were named to the list and have received this honor multiple times. Both Neubachers and Weber have made the list twice, while Klein has been honored three times. Adding to his athletic debut, freshman Kevin Rogers also earned the honors.
From the women's team, seven members were chosen. Senior Stephanie Sarandos was named to the list for the third time in her career. Sophomores Kelsey Goodman and Julia Henkel earned the honors for their second time. Earning their first recognition were senior Tori Richmond, junior Ariel Rittenhouse, sophomore Melissa Cooper and freshman Kaitlyn Dressel.
Each of these selections have exercised a GPA of 3.0 while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic careers. These athletes have also stood out in the pool on top of their academic achievements.
"This is a great honor for our athletes and program," Head Coach Neil Harper said. "To have 12 of our swimmers and divers named to this elite list is a credit to the academic success of our team. I am particularly proud of Julia, Kelsey, Mark, Tom and Mike for being two-time honorees, but then especially for Stephanie and Nick for being named to the team for a third year. These individuals, our staff and our tremendous Academic support program all take credit for this continued academic success. "
