TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Championship season is finally here for the Florida State Swimming and Diving teams as they are getting set to compete in the 2012 ACC Championships in Christiansburg, Va. Starting tomorrow, women's swimming will begin and on Thursday, both men's and women's diving will take off. The men's swimming competition will take place one week from tomorrow, starting on Feb. 22 through Feb. 25. The four-day event will be streamed live on ACC.com and is set to start tomorrow at 6 p.m. with the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay following at 7 p.m. The No. 25 Seminoles finished the dual meet season with a record of 11-1, with their only loss coming to No. 2 Florida. In ACC duals, the Seminoles went 5-0 with victories over Miami, Georgia Tech, NC State, Duke and Virginia Tech. Overall, Florida State finished at the top of pack along with Virginia, with perfect records in the conference. At last season's ACC women's ACC Championships, Florida State finished third behind North Carolina and Virginia. The Seminoles turned in four podium performances, with third place finishes from current Senior Stephanie Sarandos in the 200 back and sophomore Katrina Young on the Platform. Senior Lisi Rowland contributed two bronze medals in the one and three meter diving events. In men's diving, current senior Mike Neubacher is the only retuning medalist, as he took the bronze on the platform.
