TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete in their last home meet of the season on Friday Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Leach Center against Florida Atlantic University.

Heading into Friday's contest, the women are 8-1 on the season (3-0 ACC) and are coming off of a second place finish at the Georgia Tech Invite, which was back on Nov.18-20, 2011. The men's team has a record of 4-2 (1-1 ACC) and they placed third at the Georgia Tech Invite.

Noting a key performance from that weekend, Senior Mateo DeAngulo qualified for the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash. on March 22-24 where he will be swimming the 500 and 1650 free events in addition to the 400 IM. The future 2012 Colombian Olympian's time of 4:15.43 is the fastest time in the country at the 500 distance this year.

Also during that weekend, sophomore Tiffany Oliver lowered her school record in the 100 free, by swimming a 49.08 and freshman Elizabeth Pepper posted a 1:58.23 in the 200 fly en route winning the event over a 2008 US Olympian, Elizabeth Beisel, who represents Florida.

At the 2012 Winter Diving Nationals in Knoxville, Tenn. on Dec. 15-23, Sophomore Tom Neubacher took home a bronze medal on the men's 1-meter springboard and his older brother, Senior Mike Neubacher placed sixth on the men's platform event.

After their contest with the Owls, the Seminoles will head to Atlanta, Ga. for an ACC-showdown with Georgia Tech and North Carolina State. This is also the last weekend the Seminoles will be in competition before the ACC Championships, which are schedule for Feb.15-18 for the women and both men's and women's diving. The men's portion of the event will follow on Feb.22-25. Both championships will be held at Christiansburg, Va.
