TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- On the final day of the World Championship Trials at the Morcom Aquatics Center, rising senior Kelsey Goodman placed sixth in the women’s 3-meter springboard competition. The Moultrie, Ga. native scored 773.50 points after 15 dives.
“Today was a little rough,” Goodman said. “But my prelim and semifinal rounds were really good and I was happy with those. I’d say I had a pretty good meet.”
Goodman entered the final round in fifth after the semifinal with a total of 512.70. In her last five dives, she added 260.80 more points in the final round for sixth place.
Winning the event was Deirdre Freeman (Unattached) with a total of 916.80 just ahead of Maren Taylor (Texas) who tallied 905.50.
Concluding the six-day meet was the final round of the men’s 10-meter platform. Olympic Gold Medalist, David Boudia (Boiler Diving Academy) ran away with the win, scoring 1568.55 over 18 dives.
Incoming freshman Dominic Giordano (Pitt Aquatic Club Divers) also dove in the final, taking 11th. The Wexford, Pa. native scored 1032.55.
Earlier in the session, Michael Hixon and Troy Dumais won the synchronized men’s 3-meter springboard with a total of 861.81, while Cheyenne Cousineau and Samantha Bromberg took first in the synchronized women’s 10-meter platform. They tallied a point total of 595.23.
