Tallahassee, Fla.- Florida State swimming and diving completed their 10 day training trip on Saturday with the men defeating UNC-Wilmington 130-104 and the women beating North Florida 146-84 and UNC-Wilmington 144-87 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Before squaring off with two teams in Jacksonville, the Seminoles completed their training trip in Naples, Fla. by competing in a pair of exhibition relays at the YMCA. On the men's side freshmen Matt Shead, Rob Holderness and Robby Hayes teamed with sophomore Dan Bradford to compete in the 200 medley relay. On the women's side, senior Stacey Rademacher and freshmen Lowri Tynan, C.J. Hendry and Brittany Selts also competed in the 200 medley relay.

Florida State then traveled north to Jacksonville for Saturday mornings meet. The No. 25 ranked Seminole men got great performances from diver Scott Derner and swimmer Scott Baker. Derner, a junior from Grapevine, Texas swept the one meter and three meter diving competitions with scores of 336 and 372.75 respectively. Meanwhile Baker, a junior from Lake Mary, Fla. continued his great season once again sweeping the sprint events winning the 50 free (21.04) and 100 free (46.42).

For the No. 20 ranked women, diver Katie Sirounis (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.) and swimmer Tiffany Elias (Phoenix, Ariz.) both won two events a-piece. Sirounis swept the one and three meter diving events with scores of 253.10 and 271.55. Elias won the 200 individual medley (2:08.17) and 200 butterfly (2:05.51).

"Overall I was satisfied with our team," said head coach Neil Harper. "It was a great effort from our kids especially considering that they have been going hard twice a day for the last 10 days."

Florida State will be back in the pool on Friday afternoon when they welcome LSU to Tallahassee at 3:00 p.m.
