FSU Sits in Third Heading into Final Day

The Florida State women's swimming and diving team sits in third place behind Virginia and North Carolina heading into the final day of the 2014 ACC Championships.

Records Fall on Night One

The 200 medley relay and 800 free relay set new FSU records and qualified for the NCAA Championships on night one of the ACC Championships.

2006-07: Earned honorable mention All-American honors at the NCAA Championships (Mar. 8-10) by swimming the butterfly leg of the 10th place 400 medley relay which set a new school record time of 3:36.98...earned Honorable Mention All-American honors as a part of the 200 medley relay team that claimed 11th place in 1:39.93...finished 19th in the 100 fly with a time of 53.79...tied for 38th in the 200 fly (2:02.09)... played an important role at the ACC Championships (Feb. 14-17) by winning the gold medal in both the 200 medley relay (1:39.20) and the 400 medley relay (3:39.15)...earned an NCAA "A" cut in the 100 fly with a personal best second place time of 53.28...set a new ACC meet record and UNC pool record in the prelims (53.45) which was broken in the finals by teammate Christie Raleigh...took second place in the 200 fly in an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:59.47...took 21st place in the 50 free in a time of 23.89... tabbed a personal best time against Indian River Community College (Jan. 26) in the 100 back (1:01.74) and a second place finish in the 100 fly (56.04)...contributed to the win over LSU (Jan. 12) with first place in the 100 fly (56.51) and a second place effort in the 200 fly (2:05.64)...broke into 2007 with an event win against North Florida and UNC-Wilmington (Jan. 6) in the 100 fly (56.19)...earned a pair of NCAA "B" cut times against rival Florida (Nov. 21) with a first place finish in the 100 fly (54.56) and a second place effort in the 200 fly (2:01.65)...had an impressive showing at the Nike Cup Invitational (Nov. 16-18) with NCAA "B" cut times of 54.25 in the 100 fly (second place) and 2:02.21 (third place)...earned a personal best in the 100 free with an 11th place finish in 52.01...claimed 14th place in the 50 free in a time of 23.65...made an appearance at the SMU Classic (Oct. 20) with a pair of ninth place finishes in the 100 fly (57.54) and 200 fly (2:07.48)...also placed 12th in the 50 free (25.52)...opened the season against Clemson (Oct. 7) with a win in the 100 fly (56.24).

2005-06: Earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships (Mar. 16-18) swimming the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay that finished third with a time of 1:38.97...swam as a part of the 200 free relay that finished 17th in 1:32.25...finished 35th in the 100 fly in 54.87...swam the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay that recorded an NCAA "A" cut time of 1:38.59 which set new ACC meet, conference and school records at the ACC Championships (Feb. 15-18)...also was a part of the winning 200 free relay that recorded a new school record of 1:31.54...finished third in the 100 fly with a personal best of 54.40, sixth in the 200 fly (2:02.30) and 11th in the 50 free with a personal best of 23.60...recorded a personal best in the 200 fly (2:01.97) during the prelims...won the 100 fly with an NCAA "B" cut time of 56.77 at the Georgia Tech Invitational (Nov. 18-20)...finished second in the 200 fly (2:03.79) and seventh in the 50 free (23.91)...also was a part of the winning 200 medley, 400 medley and 200 free relays...took second in the 100 fly (56.44) and fifth in the 200 fly (2:08.37) at an ACC quad meet (Oct. 21-22)...also was a part of the winning 200 and 400 medley relays.

2004-05: Joined the Seminoles in the spring semester, competing in two meets before competing in the ACC Championships (Feb. 16- 19)...Scored points and put her name down in the FSU top ten in both butterfly events at the league summit...Took fifth in the 100 butterfly, notching a career-best time of 54.86 that ranks as the sixthbest in school history...Missed the final heat of the 200 butterfly by just 0.26, but came back to take 10th with a top time of 2:03.76 that rates eighth in Seminole lore...Made the bonus heat of the 50 freestyle, taking 21st with a season-best time of 23.95...Posted top five times in all four dual meet races she swam, including a pair of fourth-place finishes in both butterfly events against second-ranked Auburn (Feb. 16-19).

HIGH SCHOOL: Dominated the South African Age Group National meet in the 50 and 100-meter butterfly every year since she was 12 years old...Posted five top three finishes at the South African Open Championships...Best finish was a second-place mark in 2002 in the 100 butterfly...Finished third in the 50-meter butterfly from 2001-03 and added another bronze medal at the 100 butterfly in 2003...Rated number one among the high school ranks in all four strokes at the 50- meter distance...Earned South African Open Colours for her silver medals in the 50 and 100-meter butterfly at the 2003 All-Africa Games...Top long-course times include 50 freestyle (27.27), 100 butterfly (1:02.40) and 200 butterfly (2:23.00)...Coached by Graham Hill at Westville Girls' High School and Mr. Price Seagulls club squad.
