Twelve Named to All-ACC Academic Team

The Florida State Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving had 12 athletes achieve All-ACC Academic honors for the 2011-2012 season.


2011-2012 Season Awards

The Florida State Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams named their end of the season award winners this past weekend.


Noles Finish Third

Sophomore Katrina Young captures FSU's first-ever ACC Championship on women's platform with a school record setting performance of 323.05.


In Third After Three

Seven career best swims, three podium performances and one new school record for the Seminoles on the third day of competition.


Turning the Tides

Seminole Divers net two second place finishes tonight as the women's team moves up to third after day two of the 2012 ACC Championships.

2010-11: Qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trial in the 200 IM...broke the school record en route to a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:59.04 at the ACC Championships... also placed 12th in the 100 breast (1:02.32) at ACC's... at Alabama posted finishes of third in the 100 breast (1:05.90) and fifth in the 200 breast (2:23.52) her first meet as a Seminole she helped defeat Clemson by finishing second in the 200 breast (2:21.59) and by posting the second best time in the 400 IM (4:25.24)...will serve as a team captain in 2011-12.

2009-10: Placed first in the 200y IM (2:01.47) and 200y breast (2:12.84) at the Tennessee Last Chance Meet... competed in the 200 fly and 400 IM at the SEC Championships...had third-place finishes in the 200 fly and 200 IM against Florida and at Virginia...At the Tennessee Invitational, placed third in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 IM...Opened the season against Kentucky with victories in the 200y fly and 200y IM, and swam a leg of the third-place 200y medley relay team...also took the top spot in the 200y breast against South Carolina to go along with top-five finishes in the 100 back and 400 IM...named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll... swam in the 400 IM (5:08.03) and the 200m backstroke (2:45.29) at the 2010 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships.

2008-09: Competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly... ranks among the top-10 all-time Lady Vols in the 200 IM and 200 fly, as well...captured the 200y fly in a career-best time of 2:00.87 at the Last Chance Meet in Knoxville...finished third in the 200 IM in a career-best 2:01.31 versus Georgia...Placed third in the 200y fly and 400y IM at the Tennessee Swimming Invitational...captured first place in the 200y IM at Kentucky.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned All-America honors in the 200y IM, 100 breast and 200 free relay at Martin County High School...transferred to The Bolles School where she was coached by Jim McCombs (MCA) and Sergio Lopez and added All-America accolades in the 200y IM and 400y freestyle relay...overall, was a 12-time All-American...also won two Florida state team championships at The Bolles School...was part of 200y free relay that broke the National Independent School and Florida state record...won consecutive state titles in the 200 and 400 free relays in 2006-07...also took first in 200 IM in 2007 and 100 breast stroke in 2005.

PERSONAL: Born July 29, 1990...daughter of Harry and Paula Richmond...Has one brother, Alex, 23...pursuing degrees in Finance and Management of Information Systems.
