The Florida State swimming and diving teams won five of six in Durham, N.C. today.

High School: Powell is a Senior National qualifier and has been labeled the third best prospect in North Carolina by collegeswimming.com...was the state champion in the 50 free and 100 back her sophomore season at the 4-A North Carolina State...accomplished All-State honors all four years while representing Lake Norman High School...was an All-American as a junior in the 50 free(23.89)...named a three-time Swimmer of the Year...is a member of with USA Swimming Gold Medal Club, Swim MAC, which is run by Head Coach David Marsh, who led Auburn to a total of 12 National Championships...she is personally coached by Chris Webb and holds the team record in the 200 back.

Personal: Born July 9, 1993...daughter of Jim and Linda Powell...graduated from Lake Norman High School in 2011 where she was a Scholastic All-American her sophomore and junior years...dad played baseball for Ole Miss...plans to major in Athletic Training.
