Johnna Strenchock is in her first year as an Academic Program Specialist for the Florida State Athletics Academic Support department. Johnna works primarily with the Men's Football team. She provides counseling and guidance to student-athletes regarding academic and personal skill development as well as monitoring eligibility, advisement, and assisting in the recruitment of all prospective student-athletes. Johnna, originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, graduated from Kings College in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. As a former athlete whose athletic career was cut short, Johnna realized her passion for sports and her desire to make a difference in the lives of student-athletes. Therefore, in August of 2008, Johnna moved to Tallahassee to pursue a Master's degree in Sport Management from Florida State University. While studying at FSU, Johnna joined the Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in January 2009 as a Strategic Tutor. After earning her Master's Degree in December 2009, Johnna continued to work as a tutor and in May 2010, became a Post-Masters Intern in Academic Advising. In January 2011, Johnna became a full-time Academic Program Specialist for football. Johnna continues to enjoy running and trains frequently for local races and half-marathons. |
