Charlie Hogan joined the Florida State Athletic Department in June 2012 as the Academic Advisor for men's basketball, men's golf, and women's golf.

Prior to coming to Florida State Hogan worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as the Academic Advisor for men's basketball, women's cross country, and women's track and field. He also served as the Community Service Coordinator for the department. The men's basketball program set a school record for team GPA , and tied the school record for the highest single season APR score during his tenure.

Before working at UAB, Hogan spent one year at the University of Wyoming where he was the Academic Coordinator for the men's basketball and wrestling programs. The men's basketball program set a school record for the highest single season APR score under his watch.

Hogan got his start in collegiate athletics while attending graduate school at Louisiana Tech. He began working in the Athletic Academic center as a graduate assistant. During his time there, he was promoted to the Academic contact for football and finally to Acting Assistant Athletic Director for Academics. Other responsibilities for Hogan included working as the Academic Advisor for men's and women's basketball, directing the student-athlete tutoring program, and overseeing the student-athlete book loan program.

Hogan worked at ESPN 97.7 FM, one of the nation's largest all sports talk stations, from 2003-09. There, he worked as play-by-play talent for collegiate and high school football, basketball, baseball, and softball broadcasts. Hogan also was an on-air producer for the Louisiana Tech, LSU, and Grambling State radio networks.

Hogan is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems in 2004 and a Master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology in 2007.

Hogan is an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors (N4A). He is originally from Choudrant, La. He is married to Jennifer Larsen Hogan.
