Kelly Higgins, originally from Corunna, Michigan, officially joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in June of 2012. Kelly serves as an Academic Program Specialist for football student-athletes.

Kelly previously served as Assistant Director Student-Athletes at Central Michigan University beginning in 2010 shortly after working as an intern in 2009. While at CMU Kelly served as an academic advisor for women's basketball, men's and women's track & field/cross country, women's gymnastics, and field hockey. She also served as the tutoring and mentoring coordinator, had a hand in initial and continuing NCAA eligibility, advised the 27 member Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and taught multiple sections of First-Year Experience 101, a freshman student-athlete transition course.

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science Degree, with a major in Kinesiology from Michigan State University May 2008. She graduated from Central Michigan University in May 2010 with a Master of Arts - Sport Administration degree. While at MSU and CMU, Kelly was a member of the cross country and track & field programs.

She is also a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A), where she serves on the legislative committee.
