W.I.L.D. WOMEN, Women in Leadership Development, is a women's leadership program sponsored by the Athletic Student Services Office at Florida State University. The purpose is to provide female athletes with an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills by meeting bi-weekly to discuss and explore various aspects of leadership development.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is facilitated during meetings and provides a foundation for other leadership topics covered. Some of these topics include character building, effective communication and personal goal setting. In addition to weekly class topics being facilitated, participants are assigned individual and group projects that foster teambuilding and assist with the development of friendships with other female athletes.
W.I.L.D. WOMEN are also introduced to a variety of campus resources, such as the Career Center and Women's Center that can provide assistance during college. Guest speakers frequent meetings to encourage campus and community involvement too. All female athletes are encouraged to attend and participate in this fun, exciting and educational leadership experience that promises to be personally, academically and professionally rewarding.
