Greg Hawthorne joined the Florida State Sports Medicine staff in July of 2009 as an assistant athletic trainer. He will be working primarily with the football team. Hawthorne earned a master's degree in athletic training from Michigan State University in 2008 after earning his bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Michigan in 2005. While at Michigan he served as an athletic training student working with the men's & women's track and field, baseball, field hockey, wrestling and football teams. He was honored as an exemplary student athletic trainer in 2005 while at Michigan. During his time at Michigan State Hawthorne worked as a graduate assistant with the football team for the 2007 season after working with the baseball team the previous year. Hawthorne's other experiences include working with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (2005-06, 2009), the Rhein Fire of NFL Euruope (2006), the Michigan High School Athletic Association All-Star Football Game (2006) and the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL (2008-09). Hawthorne is currently a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. |
