Kristen Gravani enters her third year working with Florida State athletics and her second year as the Seminoles' full-time sports nutritionist.
Kristen's primary responsibilities include nutrition counseling, weight management, team education, supplement advising and consulting with the training table chefs to provide adequate menus for athlete needs. She works closely with sports medicine and the coaching staffs to help improve performance, recovery and injury prevention.
Originally from Ithaca, N.Y., Kristen graduated from Cornell with a B.S. in nutritional sciences in 2009, earning honors distinction in research. During her undergraduate term she completed internships with the International Food Information Council and Athletes' Performance, where she worked on the nutrition team with professional baseball, hockey, football and NFL Combine athletes.
Prior to her current position, Kristen completed her M.S. in sports nutrition with a dietetics internship at Florida State, while serving as a graduate assistant in the Department of Human Sciences and as a volunteer graduate assistant working with nutrition and the FSU football team.
Kristen is a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association, a licensed dietitian/nutritionist in the state of Florida, and recent past Student Membership Committee Co-Chair of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietetic Association.
