    Gwendolyn Davis begins her first season as the athletic trainer with the Florida State men's and women's track & field teams, and will also work with the cross country program in the fall.

    Davis, a native of Missouri City, Texas, joined the Florida State staff in November 2011 after serving in the same capacity for the nationally-ranked Arkansas track & field programs from 2008-2011. In addition to attending to the Razorback student-athletes, Davis supervised two certified graduate assistants and numerous graduate student athletic trainers.

    She is no stranger to the Atlantic Coast Conference, having worked with the Clemson cross country and track programs while in graduate school prior to joining the Arkansas staff.

    She began her collegiate career at Texas State University- San Marcos, in San Marcos, Texas, where she worked with track & field, women's basketball, football and volleyball, while also serving as a student assistant athletic trainer at San Marcos High School.

    Davis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science, with a major in athletic training. She earned her master's degree in human resources development from Clemson in May 2008. While at Clemson her duties included daily prevention, recognition, care and rehabilitation on athletic injuries. She was responsible for practice and meet preparation and supervised students.

    She is one of three children to Joe and Deborah Davis. She has a sister, Jozetta, and brother,Clifton.
