    Florida State Picture of the Day

    January 6, 2005: Watching Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl and USC win the National Championship reminded Seminole fans of that great night in 2000 when the trophy came back to Tallahassee for the second time. The Tribe won the National Championship January 4, 2000 with a 46-29 victory over the Hokies in the Sugar Bowl. MVP Peter Warrick and head coach Bobby Bowden are seen here with the National Championship trophy that is currently on display in the Great Hall at the Moore Center.

    January 5, 2005: The FSU women's basketball team will put its 13-1 record to the test when the Seminoles host Georgia Tech in the ACC opener on Thursday. The Seminoles conducted an evening practice Tuesday in preparation for the game.

    January 4, 2005: Darnell Dockett and the Arizona Cardinals defeated Tampa Bay by a final score of 12-7 on Sunday to finish the season 6-10. Dockett paced the defense with four tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a sack. The FSU all-time career tackles for loss leader has put together an outstanding year at Arizona and is expected to be an NFL All-Rookie selection.

    January 3, 2005: Seminole softball student-athlete Tatiana George talks with NBC Dateline about Operation Iraqi Freedom - a project started by U.S. soldiers to help provide school supplies to war torn areas of Iraq. The segment is expected to air on the national program during the month of January.

    January 2, 2005: It's win and you're in for former Florida State star Sam Cowart and the New York Jets. The Jets can clinch a playoff spot with a win over St. Louis or with losses or ties by either Buffalo or Denver.

    December 30, 2004: Florida State football always makes time for the kids. While in Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl, several members of FSU's senior class visited a local children's hospital one afternoon.

    December 29, 2004: The Seminoles practiced at Jacksonville University where its practice fields are nestled between oak trees.

    December 28, 2004: Junior tight end Matt Henshaw will be going head to head with his brother, Mike, a West Virginia Mountaineer, when the two teams battle in the 2005 Gator Bowl.

    December 27, 2004: Tailback duo Lorenzo Booker and Leon Washington look on as the Seminoles hold their first full practice in Jacksonville.

    December 26, 2004: Florida State softball coaches Dr. JoAnne Graf (left) and Louis Berndt (right) show off their hair done by players last year. The softball team will be back in action during 2005 as they open their season Feb. 9.

    December 25, 2004: Happy Holidays from everyone at Florida State.

    December 24, 2004: Von Wafer scored his career-high of 22 points to lead Florida State over Stetson, 71-61, at the Donald L. Tucker Center Dec. 23. He made a career-high six 3-point field goals in leading the Seminoles to their seventh victory of the season. Florida State plays next against LSU in the Sugar Bowl Tournament Dec. 30 in New Orleans.
