FSU Women's Basketball Team Builds Playground For Children

    Oct. 7, 2004

Recently the Florida State University Women's Basketball team joined forces with the Home Depot, KaBoom and ECHO to build a playground for the children of the Bethany Family Apartments. These apartments serve as a transitional home for homeless families.

The event started at 7:30 am and lasted all day. Members of the Women's Basketball team helped lay sod, as well as spreading mulch around the base of the new playground. They also spearheaded efforts to clean the newly constructed playground after a long day's work by all of the volunteers. The team also had the opportunity to interact with the children of the community after they completed the playground.
