Florida State has made it to the semifinal round of SportsNation and EA's "NCAA Football Traditions" contest. The tradition of Osceola and Renegade slamming the flaming spear into midfield is up against Notre Dame's pregame ritual of tapping the "Play Like A Champion Today" sign.

This should be no contest. FSU has already taken out Florida and LSU in the opening two rounds.

The winning school gets hundreds of free copies of the new NCAA Football 12 game.

Osceola and Renegade Featured in NCAA 12

I've got a fever. And no, the only prescription I need is not more cowbell.

It's right around this time every year -- when there is no more football, the NBA playoffs are drawing closer and closer to an end and soon all we will have is a never-ending onslaught of regular-season baseball (seriously, you know you're season is way too long when a star player taking a day off is common practice) -- that I start jonesing for a little EA Sports NCAA Football.

I own a Playstation 3 but all it really happens to be is a glorified DVD/Blu-Ray player. The only game I ever own is NCAA football. I buy it brand new every year and then sell it on Half.com right after the BCS bowl games. It's a cycle that never gets old (except for maybe my wife ... I love you!).

Anyway, each year the game promises new features and updates. And while sometimes the yearly additions lack much in the way of being something truly exciting, NCAA 2012 is likely to be different. This year, EA Sports has smartly added several football traditions that have never been featured before, including the addition of Osceola and Renegade.

Check out this rather long video to see what I am talking about. Actual footage of the game starts at the 1:40 mark and the sheer awesomeness of a Saturday in Tallahassee begins at the 2:30 clip.
