MOBILE, Ala. -- It was the showdown that turned into the shutdown, at least where Florida State's defense is concerned.
While Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston and Co. were shredding the Clemson defense, Seminoles' cornerback Lamarcus Joyner was wrecking havoc on the defensive side of the ball, helping shut down Tajh Boyd and the Tigers' potent offensive attack.
Joyner racked up eight solo tackles, one sack, forced two fumbles that led to FSU touchdowns and added an interception in the Seminoles' 51-14 rout of 3rd-ranked Clemson on Saturday night.
For his efforts, Joyner is the Reese's Senior Bowl's College Senior of the Week.
Joyner, who switched from safety to cornerback this season, has led a Seminoles defense that is ranked third in the nation, allowing just 12.3 points per game.
