The Noles picked up a HUGE victory this past Saturday afternoon against #3 UNC. The sold-out crowd saw Coach Hamilton's team absolutely dismantle the Tar Heels by a score of 90-57. Deividas Dulkys simply could not miss, scoring 32 points in the route. Dulkys would go on to win ACC player of the week for his performance. The team is back in action TONIGHT at 9PM vs. Maryland. This is a very important game as the Noles look to build off that impressive win.
Down by 19 points a minute into the second half, the Florida State women's basketball team could've folded against No. 13/11 Miami on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Center. Instead, led by sophomore forward Natasha Howard (22 points, career-best 17 rebounds), the Seminoles fought their way back to tie the game with 37 seconds left, before the Hurricanes ultimately escaped with a 60-57 victory. The Seminoles return to action at Boston College at 7pm on Thursday before returning home to host Georgia Tech at 2pm on Sunday
Georgia Tech is Samaritan's Feet night as all Seminoles are encouraged to donate a new pair of shoes for underprivileged youth. Coach Sue and the Seminole coaching staff will coach "Barefoot for Bare Feet" in order to call attention to the 300 million children in the world who are at risk of disease, infection and death due to not owning a single pair of shoes. Those who want to help provide shoes to children in need can text the number 85944, keyword SHOES and a one-time $10 gift will be donated to Samaritan's Feet through their cell phone bill. As a thank you, all fans who bring a pair of new shoes on Sunday will be entered to win a signed basketball by the team, make sure you sign up at the marketing table.

Head coach Lonni Alameda has announced the team's 2012 regular-season schedule, which includes several challenging opponents, five different tournaments, and two home games that will be aired on ESPNU! The Florida State baseball team will open the 2012 season ranked among the nation's best. The Seminoles are ranked No. 13 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's pre-season top 40.
Florida State returns 19 players from last year's squad that advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals. The Seminoles welcome back all four starting infielders in Jayce Boyd, Devon Travis, Justin Gonzalez and Sherman Johnson. James Ramsey and Seth Miller return as starters in the outfield for the Garnet & Gold, while Ramsey will be slotted as the Noles starting centerfielder in 2012. Seniors Hunter Scantling and Brian Busch will pace the Seminoles on the mound.
There will be plenty of new faces to become familiar with this spring as the Seminoles welcome 17 newcomers in a class, which was ranked 16th-nationally by Collegiate Baseball.
Two Seminoles have earned pre-season honors. Senior James Ramsey and junior Devon Travis were honored by the NCBWA as second and third team honorees, respectively. Ramsey and Travis also earned second team accolades on the 2012 Louisville Slugger Pre-Season All-American team.
The annual FSU Baseball Fan Day for the 2012 season is set for Sunday, February 12th. Florida State opens the season with a three-game home stand against the Hofstra Pride beginning Friday, February 17th at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
Swimming and Diving
The Florida State women's team picked up two victories this weekend over both Georgia Tech 185-106 and North Carolina State, 160-135. The men's team went 1-1 on the day, edging out the Yellow Jackets 162.5-137.5 and dropped one to the Wolfpack, 176-122. With those performances, the women's team finished the dual mean season with a perfect ACC record of 5-0 and 11-1 overall. The men posted a record of 6-3, 2-2 in the ACC.
This concludes dual meet competition for the season. The next meet for the Seminoles will be the ACC Championships, which are schedule for Feb.15-18 for the women and both men's and women's diving. The men's portion of the event will follow on Feb.22-25. Both championships will be held at Christiansburg, Va.

For the first time since 1988, the No. 44 Florida State men's tennis team (3-0) has started the season shutting out its first three opponents. The Seminoles stopped Florida A&M 7-0 then shut down Troy 7-0 on Monday at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Florida State stormed the courts to take a quick lead winning all three of the doubles matches against Florida A&M. In the night bout against Troy, the Seminoles once again came out strong in doubles not showing and wear from the earlier match. Florida State hosts the Seminole Quad this weekend as they face South Alabama, UAB and Furman. All matches are played at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Despite not having one senior or having any individuals ranked in singles and doubles, the Florida State Women's tennis team will begin their season ranked No.17. This ranking is the second highest ranking in school history, next to the No.15 spot the Seminoles received heading into the 2011 season. The next set of rankings for teams, doubles and singles will come out on Jan. 24. Returning to the court this season for the Noles is redshirt Junior Noemie Scharle, junior Amy Sargaent, junior Francesca Segarelli and sophomore Ruth Seaborne. They will be joined by newcomers in junior Carolina De los Santos, freshman Mia Vriens and freshman Leyla Erkan. Florida State's first match is set for this Saturday at 12pm at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center against Central Florida. Times and locations are subject to change. With the courts built and the team practices underway, the inaugural year for Florida State Sand Volleyball has begun! Make sure you check out the spring schedule here. Mark your calendars for the sand volleyball ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday, January 20th. The ribbon cutting will begin at 12:00pm and will be followed with a team meet and greet and light hors d'oeuvres.
