A week after firing Kevin Steele, Clemson has found its new defensive coordinator.

News broke Wednesday night that Oklahoma assistant Brent Venables will replace Steele as the Tigers' new defensive coordinator. Venables had been the defensive coordinator for the Sooners since 2004.

"BV to Clemson. Go Tigers," Clemson coach Dabo Swinney wrote in a text message according to Travis Sawchik of The (Charleston) Post and Courier.

Under Venables, Oklahoma finished 55th in the nation in total defense in 2011.
