Only a week to go until Opening Day! As Coach Tommy says "opening day should be a holiday," and to us it is!
Personally, it is my second favorite holiday after Christmas. We have been working so hard as a team and we finally get to come together on the field for the first pitch of our season. We are all getting very excited and anxious as we count down the days. Practice has still been going well and we have been scrimmaging eachother to get game-like situations. We have some practices left and you better believe we will make the most of them!
So in Volume 5 of this blog, Terese mentioned we were going to Fun Station as a team, but we did not make it. Instead, we threw a baby shower for our academic advisor, Jacki Lienesch. She is having a boy and is ready to pop at any moment! We came together as a team and put our creative side to use. Terese took a big part in decorating, while I provided the "diaper cake." The rest of the team provided some delicious food and Shayla lead us in some fun baby games, and let's just say it is not easy to drink out of a baby bottle! Then we all decorated some bibs and baby clothes for Jacki's little stud to wear to all of our games!
Jacki works very hard for us in the athletic-academic department, so we wanted to show our great appreciation we have for her.
We hope to see you all out at the softball field on February 11 at 5 p.m. for our first game of the Sunshine State Classic! -K-Mac
