Hello to everyone from the FSU softball team! Terese Gober here with Kristie McConn -- a.k.a. K-mac -- bringing you the inside scoop.

In case anyone doesn't know my full name is Terese Gober and I am from McDonough, Ga. I am a senior pitcher and this is my last chance to do it big so that's the plan! Kristie McConn is a junior second baseman from Broken Arrow, Okla. and she's ready to do whatever it takes to get back to her home state to win the 2010 Women's College World Series!!!

Now a little info on what this blog is all about. Every week we're going to be posting a little something to keep ya'll informed on what is going on within the softball program at Florida State. We've titled the blog "Road to OKC" because that is one of our team's major goals this season. Everything we do this fall from weights to conditioning to practice to our scrimmages is dedicated to making it to the 2010 World Series in Oklahoma City, and ultimately winning!

This week we're going to tell ya'll a little bit about the infamous "Garnet & Gold" scrimmages. It might not sound like much to an outsider, but to our team this is a huge deal! We started these scrimmages in order to get fully prepared for the spring season. The FSU softball team is divided into two teams, the garnet and the gold, and ironically enough K-Mac and I are both on the GARNET team!! Whoop whoop!!! So we might be a little biased. So far we've played three games and the record is Gold two games, Garnet one game, so we have to step it up! The games get pretty intense. We play in separate dugouts and we have real umpires come out for the game. It's just like a real game except we're playing our own teammates. Not only are the games fun but they are giving our team game-like situations to help better prepare ourselves for the 2010 spring season. Our next "Garnet & Gold" game should be a blast like the past three so everyone should come out and support us!

We are excited to be able to keep everyone informed through our blog so keep reading every week and you will definitely be entertained! Be sure to check out next week's entry because the team is having a Halloween weight lifting day that will surely be entertaining!

    See ya'll next week! :)
