    Ponder This - Volume IV

    By Christian Ponder, Seminoles.com
lauer.jpgOk y'all know I'm a big golfer, and this week, I have to give props to my roommate and golfer Seath Lauer.  That guy is having an unbelievable year so far, Tiger Woods style.  This past week, the Men's Golf team won their second consecutive tournament, and Seath tied for second place.  He's lucky that I don't play on the golf team because he would be riding the pine!

Update for all of you Seminole golf fans.  The last time I played my other roommate, Punter Shawn Powell, in 9 holes, I shot 3-over.  He basically shot at least a double bogey on EVERY hole, so it's safe to say I dominated him by at least double digits.  But I felt pretty bad because he was crying all the way home.  That's the price he has to pay when he can't make putts...

But right now, golf is on the shelf for awhile.  We have a big game against Georgia Tech on Saturday night.  We need all of your support here at Doak Campbell.

And remember, I still need your "sign off" suggestions. I've heard CP7, Ponder That, and Stay Classy Tallahassee.  Those are all good, but I'm looking for something GREAT.  So for now...

    Tag line for you.

    NOLEttingup!

Christian, Seath is not the only 'Noles athlete who has unbelievable this year. You've been awesome yourself. We'll be supporting you and the rest of the 'Noles all the way. Just play your game, and GA Tech won't have a chance.

As for a sign off suggestion, I'll have to think on that one. Hmmm....

How about.... "Get your popcorn ready"

Get fired up Ponder. Get the team fired up.

    "Get your popcorn ready!"

    How about...

    Pass it on?

maybe Seminole Swagger! lol also, you know what would be cool, if during the next game all the players walk on the field while-linking arms with Bobby. that way the crazy trustees can see that we still love Bobby! Well see yah ponder!!!

Been bleeding Garnet and Gold my whole life. I can still remember going to the UF game back in '98 when Weinke was out and we had to rely on Marcus Outzen (aka "The Red Rooster") to deliver a win for us.

We were the underdogs on our own turf and that always stings. But it gave us the "us against the world" mentality. I'm sure you guys may feel backed into a similar corner at this point in the season.

Know that your true fans will stay loyal to the very end. If I could travel to Tallahassee this weekend you bet I'd be there.

But the game will most definitely be on in my house and I'll be discussing it throughout on Facebook.

Have heart, you guys still have a lot to play for this season. You never know how the ball will bounce. GO NOLES!!

    Mike

PS: A sign off suggestion: "The Tribe Never Dies"

Here is a sign off for you, "Remain Unconquered". Its short and to the point and besides I don't think people at our school say it enough. It is the spirit of our campus and the meaning it holds should keep everyone who is part of our university and the fans heads held high in the tough times. It should also be in our minds when all is good to help keep us motivated and striving for more. No matter what is going on with Florida State I am always proud to say that I am a Seminole and the Unconquered spirit and tradition I feel is a great one as well as many of our other traditions here at FSU. Just a suggestion, I think it could be a great sign off...

Christian, I grew up in Tallahassee, graduated from FSU and now live in Hoover, AL. Looking beyond the W/L column, I see great things. Keep playing your game, and those great things will surface. Thanks for being a positive role model for my 10 yr old son. GO NOLES!

Christian, ask Shawn Powell about the friend of Bobby Bowden from Birmingham, AL, who talks with him at game time. Would like to send you a personal email if your address is available.
    Thanks.

Christian, I don't know if it would make a great sign-off but I wanted to share a quote that really hit home for me this weekend. It was a quote by James Carville(Democratic Strategist and LSU alum). He mentioned speaking with Les Miles prior to the game against Florida and when Les Miles told him that he was glad Carville was pulling for them James Carville replied, "I'm not pulling for you, I'm dying with you." That quote embodies my faith and compassion for Florida State. No matter what happens week to week, I never stop believing in you guys. Just wanted to share that so you know there are fans that still support you and believe in you each and every week. Maybe your signoff should be "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Thank you for what you give on the field and GO NOLES!

    Hi Christian,

I'm a 2004 grad and obviously die hard fan. It's great to have a guy of your talent at QB again, like we did in the 80's and 90's. I'm just curious, but I read one of the above posts about the linking arms comment above and although I missed the start of the game, I heard the team walked out of the tunnel that way. Was that above blog the origin of that idea? Glad to know you'll be back next year, though I there's still plenty of time this year to make a great season!

Whats up to my favorite QB? You did an awesome job in the GT game. I feel so bad that you guys didn't win. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring the team you are a wonderful leader. I'll always be a die hard NOLES FAN, no matter the outcome.I will always believe in you guys. You are an awesome team. Just remember,Seminoles never die, they may get banged & bruised but will always stand tall and come out winners in the end. Go Noles!!!!!

    Ponder,

I like the golf update man. That's good stuff! I'm a big golfer myself. You know, your performance has been "lights out" thus far this season. You seem to have all the characteristics it takes to be a leader, and then some! That being said, I'm sure you'll find a way to bring the team together and get back on track. It's time to cowboy up and do it big on North Carolina this week! Oh and as for my sign of..

Drive for show, putt for dough!

    "Nole Swagg 4 Life"

I think you should say "now you nole!"...like, "now you know"

    Christian,
I love your post!, first i have to say im very impressed that you play football, golf, and manage to be working on your masters. second, as a 17 year old girl who has played golf for 7 years- im sure i can beat you!!! :) and for a sign out name how about "and now you nole", kind like "and now you know"
    Sincerely, Toni

    Ponderossa Grill-Fired Up.
