    | 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

As the Seminoles prepare to make the trip to Boston College this weekend we want to raise awareness to Mark Herzlich's fight against Ewing's Sarcoma bone cancer.  Herzlich was diagnosed on March 14, 2009 and has begun an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy.

As one of the top linebackers in the country last season, Herzlich was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.  Herzlich led Boston College with 110 tackles last season and was projected as one of the top picks in the NFL Draft.

He continues to follow and agressive treatment and recovery plan and we want to spread the word on Mark to aid in his fight.

Here is a feature video that Fox produced about Herzlich:

So how can you help?  Here are a few links that we want you to check out.  The first,, the official fan site of Boston College's Mark Herzlich. is the go to site for information regarding Mark's treatment and recovery. Check out their blog for up to date information on Mark's recovery and to see how you can get involved.

If you want to donate toward the fight of Ewing's Sarcoma you can do so in two ways.  You can purchase merchandise from the following site:  HerzWear.  All net profits from the purchases go to cancer research in Mark Herzlich's name.  You can also click here to donate to the Boston College Chapter of Uplifting Athletes.  These donations will go directly to Ewing's Sarcoma research in Mark's name.

Florida State University will present a check for $9400 in Mark's name for Ewing's Sarcoma research.  This was a collaborative funding effort led by the Florida State University Alumni Association along with support from the FSU Student Alumni Association, FSU Foundation, Department of Athletics and Varsity Club.

Both Clemson and Virginia Tech have or are planning fund raising efforts for Mark as well.  Mark will also be featured on College GameDay this weekend.  This is bigger than the Florida State and Boston College Game this weekend so please show your support.

$9400? Surely a Team......a University....a Booster Club......a Huge Nole Nation that can fill 83,000 seats can surely add another Zero to that number. I know there are over 94,000 FSU students, alumni, family, & fans that can donate a single dollar. LETS GO NOLES $94,000!

Go Noles and Go Mark, Stay Strong and God Bless You!
