TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida State (23-15) will host Stetson (16-22) on Wednesday for the first meeting between the two teams since the Seminoles swept a two-game midweek series 8-5 and 8-6 on April 19-20 last year in Tallahassee. Wednesday’s game has a start time of 6:00 p.m. on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
The game will stream live on the ACC Network Extra, while Eric Luallen will provide live play-by-play on the radio (106.1 FM in Tallahassee) and nationwide through the FSU Gameday App.
Florida State is coming off a weekend series win against Clemson, after claiming victories in Sunday and Monday’s games. FSU has not yet announced a starter for Wednesday’s game against the Hatters.
Swinging a hot bat is junior Dylan Busby, who recorded three RBI in each game against Clemson, and he ended the series 5-for-12, including a home run in Sunday’s 7-3 FSU win. The last time a Seminole gathered at least three RBI in each game of a three-game span was when Busby earned a total of 11 RBI in the final two games of the 2016 ACC Tournament against Miami (FSU won 5-4) and Clemson (Clemson won 18-13) and in the first game of the NCAA Regional against Alabama State (FSU won 18-6).
Alec Byrd picked up the win and improved to 2-1 on the season after pitching the final three innings of Monday’s game against the Tigers, while only surrendering one unearned run, allowing the Seminoles to claim the series victory that came with the 7-6 win.
Florida State is looking to build on the momentum of the Clemson series going into Wednesday’s game against Stetson. FSU has an all-time winning record of 59-22 against the Hatters and have won every game against the Hatters since 2013, a string of 11 consecutive wins.
