Latara King begins her second season as a graduate assistant for the Florida State women's basketball team. Her duties include serving as the manager coordinator, assisting the scout team in practices, helping with marketing and community service opportunities, assisting the video unit as well as a host of other objectives.

King previously spent four years as an assistant coach for Florida Memorial University. King's responsibilities with the Lady Lions over her four seasons included recruiting, development of guard players, scheduling, travel and several administrative duties.

King was a three-year starter for Florida Memorial (2005-09) and served as a captain her junior and senior years for the Lady Lions. In the 2008-09 season, King guided the Lady Lions to their most successful season in eight years. Her senior year was highlighted by winning the Sun Conference and making an appearance at the Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

In her senior season at Florida Memorial, King was named the Sun Conference Player of the Week and capped her final playing year by receiving the NAIA National Champion of Character Award. King attended Coral Springs High School, where she was a four-year varsity starter and three-year captain of the basketball team. She also participated in track-and-field and cross country.

King helped coach the South Florida Jaguars 15U squad for AAU for two years and helped organize the Youth4Hoops Exposure Camps in Miramar, Florida. She was also a part of the "So You Want to be a Coach" class of 2010 in San Antonio, Texas, during the NCAA Women's Final Four.

The Coral Springs, Florida, native immediately returned to her alma mater following her successful playing days. She served as a student assistant during the 2009-2010 season and was elevated as an assistant coach for the Lady Lions beginning in the 2010-11 season.

King graduated from Florida Memorial University in the spring of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She is a proud member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
