Noles Set Sights on College Cup

Florida State is making its seventh all-time appearance in the NCAA College Cup this weekend.

2007 - Soccer America National Freshman of the Year...joined teammate Amanda DaCosta as the first recipients of National Freshman of the Year honors in school history...Soccer America & Soccer Buzz First Team Freshman All-American...selected to the ACC All-Tournament and NCAA All-Tournament teams...finalist for Soccer Buzz Freshman of the Year...Soccer Buzz Southeast Region Second Team & All-Freshman Team...had an outstanding freshman campaign leading the team and the ACC with six game-winning goals - tied for the second most in a single season at FSU...ranked second on the team in points (42) and goals scored (18) and fourth in assists with six in 25 starts...tied for the team lead with three game-winning assists...finished in the top 10 in the ACC in points per game (2nd), goals per game (3rd) and shots per game (10th)...fired 68 shots on the year and led all Seminole starters with a shots on goal percentage of .544...set freshman school records for shots, points, goals and game-winning goals while finishing tied for third with three game-winning assists...along with Mami Yamaguchi, had a hand in 77.8 percent of the Seminole victories in 2007 combining to score 11 game-winning goals and six game-winning assists in 14 of the 18 wins...tallied six multiple point performances and five multi-goal games...registered two hat tricks (Kennesaw State and Connecticut) and three, two-goal games against Francis Marion, Troy and Miami...began the season recording at least one point in 10 of her first 13 games...notched her first point as a Seminole in her very first game at Portland assisting on a goal by Holly Peltzer...scored her first collegiate goal two days later in FSU's win over Cal State Northridge...started eight games in league play tallying seven points on three goals and an assist...scored the game-winner against Maryland...assisted on Mami Yamaguchi's game-winner in the 75th minute to defeat Virginia Tech in Blacksburg...played a season-high 96 minutes twice at UCF and in the NCAA Tournament against Connecticut...registered 90 + minutes in 10 of her last 13 games to close out the season...2007 NCAA TOURNAMENT - Put together the finest postseason by any one Seminole student-athlete in school history...recorded 17 points on eight goals and one assist in six games...was involved in four of the five victories posting three game-winning goals and one game-winning assist...in just one season, tied India Trotter (2003-06) for the all-time school record for postseason points and goals...her eight goals in one year is the most scored in a postseason tournament...became the only player in school history to post multi-goal games with two hat tricks in NCAA Tournament action...provided all the scoring in a first round victory over Kennesaw State netting three goals in a span of 27 minutes...came through with the game-winner against Texas in the third round...helped advance FSU to its third straight College Cup scoring all three goals in a 3-2 double overtime victory over Connecticut...tallied her third game-winning goal of the tournament in dramatic fashion against the Huskies putting away a diving header in the 104th minute for the only Seminole golden goal of the season...took a career-high nine shots against Connecticut...registered a game-winning assist in the semifinals finding Amanda DaCosta for a goal in the 72nd to break a 2-2 tie against Notre Dame.

FINNISH NATIONAL TEAM - Earned 43 caps playing for the Finnish National Team...registered nine goals during her playing time with Team Finland.

CLUB - In 2005, led the Finnish first division as the top goal scorer...accumulated 28 goals in 18 games as a member of FC Honka...has played club soccer for 18 years (1990-2007)...made her W-League debut in the summer of 2008 with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

PERSONAL - Daughter of Heli and Pasi Talonen...major is social science...two-time member of the Dean's List (Fall 2007 & Spring 2008)...member of the All-ACC Academic Team (2007)...ACC Academic Honor Roll (2007-08).
