Women's Soccer Falls to University of Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-Sixth-ranked University of Virginia women's soccer (12-1-2, 3-1 in the ACC) scored in the 84th-minute from forward Tania Jovanovic to break a one-goal tie and defeat Florida State (6-9, 0-6 in the ACC) 2-1. The goal, that came with less than five minutes remaining, was a header from four yards out. Midfielder Jennifer Rawlings took a free kick from 30 yards out and played it midfielder Wendy Hartwig in the right corner. Hartwig then sent a cross to Jovanovic for the eventual score.

After UVa got on the scoreboard first in the 47th minute of the second half, FSU's Jill Ford scored on a penalty kick. Defender Danielle Foard was fouled in the box, giving the Seminoles the penalty kick.

The Seminoles' next match is on the road at the University of South Florida, March 6th at 2 p.m.
