Florida State Men's Tennis Ends Regular Season With Match Against Georgia Tech

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State Men's Tennis Team, ranked 39th nationally will host the 25th -ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday, April, 12th. The match between the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets is scheduled to take place at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on the campus of Florida State University at 1:00 pm.
The Seminoles have faced the Yellow Jackets 53 times in the past. Florida State has a 30-23 advantage against Georgia Tech. Last season, the Seminoles came up one point short, as they fell to their ACC rival by a score of 4-3. The last time the Seminoles defeated the Jackets was in 2000, when Florida State pulled off a 4-3 victory against Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga.
The Tribe is led by Mat Cloer, who is currently ranked 45th in the nation in singles and 49th in doubles along with his partner Rodrigo Laub. Cloer and Laub have and overall record of 17-11 and are 4-2 in the ACC. Juniors Romain Jurd and Alex Herrera are ranked 51st in the country in doubles, boasting a record of 20-9 overall and 2-2 in the ACC.
The Yellow Jackets are led in singles action by 23rd-ranked Roger Anderson. Junior Scott Schnugg is also a force for Georgia Tech as he is currently ranked 102nd in the nation. Anderson and doubles partner Schnugg are a powerful duo, as they are 20th in the latest ITA rankings.
This is the last regular season match for the Seminoles. They will begin ACC Tournament play, Saturday, April 17, in Raleigh, N.C.
