Florida State Men's Tennis Players Go 1-2 In First Three Matches Of 2009

TAMPA, Fla.  – Freshman Chris Reiman and junior Vahid Mirzadeh began Florida State’s spring season with three matches on Friday and Saturday at the Saddlebrook Invitational in Tampa, Fla.

Reiman defeated a player from Florida A&M 6-1, 7-6.  The Jacksonville, Fla., native gained control with a dominating first set and then clinched the match in a tiebreaker.

Mirzadeh was able to take No. 23 Roy Kalmonovich from Illinois to three sets in his first collegiate match before losing 7-6, 2-6, 7-6(1).  The Wellington, Fla., native had three set points, but Kalmonovich was able to use his big serve to send the match to the deciding tiebreaker.  On Saturday Mirzadeh lost to another ranked player from Illinois, No. 41 Dennis Nevolo 6-2, 6-2
