Lancashire Breaks the School Record in the Mile, Again

Tallahassee, Fla. - Sophomore Tom Lancashire (Bolton, England/Turton) has continued his standout season, breaking the Florida State school record in the mile and running the eighth-best time (4:00) in the nation. The 2005 ACC Performer of the Year almost assured that he would be in Fayetteville, Ark., next weekend after winning the event at the Gator Fast Times Open Qualifier on Thursday, March 3, 2005.

Redshirt sophomore Garrett Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Baptist Academy) posted his fourth automatic qualifying mark and second farthest throw of the season in winning the shot put event.

Senior Kim Walker (Port of Spain, Trinidad/Polytechnic) tied her career-best time in the 55m dash posting a 7.05. Junior captain LaKendra McColumn (Lithonia, Ga./Southwest Dekalb) finished the 55m hurdles in 8.00.

Junior transfer Johnta Griffin (Orlando, Fla./Oak Ridge) finished third in the long jump with a mark of 23'5.5" (7.15m) and fourth in the triple with a distance of 46'2" (14.07m). Senior Willie Johnson (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) was fifth, recording a mark of 45'9" (13.94m).
