RALEIGH, N.C. - The Florida State volleyball team continued their recent success on the road Friday night, as they defeated North Carolina State by a score of 3-0 (30-24, 30-18, 30-19). With the win, the Seminoles improve to 19-10 overall and 10-5 in the conference, while NC State falls to 3-30, 0-15 in the ACC.
Florida State was led by senior Alex Sevillano, who had an outstanding evening against the Wolfpack. Sevillano recorded her tenth double-double of the season, as she notched 16 kills, 12 digs, two service aces, two block assists and hit .419 for the Seminoles. Middle hitters Dawn Hough and Aisha Carr had strong performances. Hough had 12 kills, three digs, two block assists and a hitting percentage of .524, while Carr recorded seven kills, two digs, and a hitting percentage of .583. Senior outside hitter Erica Bunch turned in another solid showing for the Tribe, as she tallied 14 kills, two digs and hit .423 against NC State. Jennifer Anderson led the Seminoles in assists with 55.
NC State had a big night from sophomore middle blocker Sarah Ensminger. Ensminger recorded six kills, four digs, one service ace and hit .385 on the evening. Also performing well for the Wolfpack was senior outside hitter Rebecca Anderson. Anderson notched six kills, two service aces and three digs. Sophomore setter Lindi Sheppard had two kills, 25 assists, two block assists and six digs for NC State.
The Seminoles will return to action tomorrow, November 16th, when they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to take on the 12th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
