Curry's Record-Breaking Performance Earns ACC Nod

Tallahassee, Fla. - Junior Rafeeq Curry (Miami, Fla./ACE Academy) was named Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week for his record-breaking triple jump at the Tyson Invitational on February 12, 2005. The honor was Curry's first of the season and the fourth overall for the Tribe's program this season.

The four-time All-American shattered the Florida State record with his career-best mark of 54'00.50" (16.47m). Curry's jump is the best in the nation and secures his third consecutive berth at the indoor nationals meet. The reigning ACC Triple Jump Champion also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay team that posted a season-best time of 3:11.16.

Florida State travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships.
