Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team wrapped up competition on the home track of ACC-newcomer, the Miami Hurricanes at the Miami Gatorade Invitational on Saturday, April 16, 2005.

Senior Kimberly Walker (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago/Polytechnic) took fourth in the 100m in 11.71. She was followed by senior Sharneka Brown (St. Petersburg, Fla./Florida A&M) who posted a 12.47 clip. Brown also competed in the triple jump, placing eighth with a distance of 38'2.75" (11.65m).

Junior Evelyne-Cynthia Niako (Stephenson, Ga./Stephenson) ran a season-best and team-leading 400m time, taking fourth place in 55.54. Sophomore Dana Massiah (Trinidad & Tobago/Bishop Aenesty) was eighth with a 56.63 time.

Junior hurdler LaKendra McColumn (Lithonia, Ga./Southwest Dekalb) took sixth in a regional qualifying time of 13.84 in the 100m hurdles.

The women's 4x100m relay, comprised of Brown, Niako, Walker and McColumn, took fourth place in a regional qualifying time of 45.62.

For the men's team, senior Joscelyn Worrell (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) posted a time of 14.84 in the 110m hurdles.
