For the first time in Florida State history the Lady Seminoles will play host to the 2001 ACC Volleyball Championship. All matches will be played at Lucy McDaniel Arena at Tully Gym. Tournament action begins on Thursday, Nov. 15 as the No. 8 seed Virginia takes on the No.9 seed NC State at 7:30 p.m. Matches will continue through Sunday, Nov. 18 when the Championship match will take place at 1:00 p.m. The championship match will be broadcast live on Sunshine Network.

After starting the 2001 season with a record of 2-7 the Lady Seminoles have been on a tear as of late winning 14 of their last 20 matches. Late in the season, Florida State came off of five straight victories against their conference foes, on route to a 6-2 record in the second half of the ACC schedule. They have defeated every team at least once in the conference with the exception of Duke. The Lady Seminoles swept the season series against Clemson, Virginia and North Carolina State.

The Florida State Lady Seminoles are set to face off against Wake Forest in ACC Tournament action. Florida State enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed, while Wake Forest enters as No. 5. The two teams will meet on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 16. Against the Demon Deacons Florida State is 1-1 defeating Wake Forest at home in a three game sweep and losing a heart breaker in five at Winston-Salem. When facing ACC opponents at home the Seminole squad is 6-2. Florida State leads Wake Forest in the all-time series 10-3, while also leading the Demon Deacons in ACC tournament action 1-0.
