TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State men's and women's tennis teams are set to host a pair of conference matches this weekend at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. The women's team is set to take on the Virginia Cavaliers Saturday, March 15th, at 10:00 am, while the men will host the Tigers of Clemson Sunday, March 16th, at 1:00 pm. The men's team enters the match with a record of 8-7 overall and 2-0 in the ACC, while the women's team has a record of 10-4 entering their first conference match.
The Florida State women's tennis team is scheduled to take on the Cavaliers Saturday for the 16th time in the history of the two programs. The Seminoles lead the all-time series with a record of 13-2. The last time the two teams met was last season when the Cavaliers upset the Tribe in Charlottesville, Va., by a score of 4-3. Florida State last defeated Virginia in 2001, when the Seminoles earned a 4-3 victory.
The men's team will host the Tigers of Clemson on Sunday. This meeting will mark the 25th time the two teams have met in the history of the schools. The Tigers have the advantage in the all-time series with a record of 14-10. Last season, the Seminoles defeated the Tigers at Clemson by a score of 6-1.
The men's team will return to action Friday, March 21st, when they host the Bulls of South Florida at 2:30 pm. The women's team will host Wake Forest on the following day, March 22nd, at 11:00 am
