Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State's Norisha Campbell and Maryland's Wilette Dority share this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors after leading their respective teams this past weekend. Campbell let FSU to wins against Virginia, 3-1 and Maryland, 3-2.
On the week, Campbell recorded 4.31 kills per game, 1.29 blocks per game and a .391 hitting percentage. The senior middle hitter from Universal City, Texas, had her best match of the week against Maryland where she hit a career-high 29 kills while also contributing seven blocks and a .377 hitting percentage. Campbell currently lead the Lady Seminoles in both blocks (72) and kills (302).
In weekend action Campbell led the Seminoles to their first 2-0 weekend on the season. Against Virginia she tallied 18 kills, and four block assists with a .406 hitting percentage. In match action vs. Maryland Campbell led the squad to a five game defeat. Campbell had 29 kills, and 53 attacks, while contributing 12 digs.
The Lady Seminoles return to ACC action on Friday, Oct. 26 as they host Clemson at 7:30 p.m. in Lucy McDaniel Arena at Tully Gym. The match will be broadcast live on Sunshine Network. On Sunday, Oct. 28th at 1:00 p.m. the squad will play host to Georgia Tech.
